Outdoor activities in Ayr

Ayr is the biggest town on the South Ayrshire coast, with a long flat beach running north toward Prestwick, the Citadel Leisure Centre on the seafront, and the NCN73 cycle path connecting it all together. The beach itself is the headline — three miles of sand exposed to whatever the Firth is doing, which means anything from glass-flat to kitesurf-able depending on the day.

The picks below cover everything in our catalogue based in Ayr or the immediately-adjacent stretch of coast. Brown Carrick Hill above Dunure is a short drive south if you want hill views without committing to a full day out.
