Girvan is the southernmost town on the Ayrshire coast, with a long sandy beach facing across to Ailsa Craig. The beach is wide, shallow-shelving and quiet outside of summer — good for calm-day swims, beach walks, and the occasional surfable swell when the wind cooperates.
